Volunteer MBC Launches Innovative Virtual Volunteer Expo: VX 2023, Powered by vFairs

Brampton, ON – Volunteer MBC is thrilled to announce its upcoming event, the VX: Virtual Volunteer Expo, set to take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023. This groundbreaking virtual event presents an exciting opportunity for residents of Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon to explore numerous organizations in their community, discover meaningful volunteer opportunities, and connect with causes they are passionate about. VX: Virtual Volunteer Expo is designed for a diverse audience, including youth, adults, seniors, and newcomers in the Peel Region. Participants can look forward to gaining valuable insights into the world of volunteering, while also earning volunteer hours from the comfort of their own homes.

Nazneen Khan, the Program Coordinator for Volunteer MBC, expressed the organization’s excitement about this innovative event, stating, “We are very excited to use this new platform to reach the community and connect people to the causes they care about.”

What sets this event apart is Volunteer MBC’s pioneering use of a virtual reality platform to host an expo. This unique approach allows for safe and convenient participation and opens up a world of possibilities for engagement and interaction. With the participation of 25 organizations from across Peel Region, including representatives from the City of Brampton, City of Mississauga, and Town of Caledon, attendees will have a wide range of volunteer opportunities to explore.

The event will feature two workshops, “Getting Started on Your Volunteer Journey” (for ages 12-16) and “Volunteering as a Pathway for Career Development: Learn How Volunteering Improves Your Employability” led by expert facilitator Adriane Beaudry.
