The virtual conference will share important information and provide community building opportunities to adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients, survivors, their caregivers, and professionals who support their care.
New York, NY – Stupid Cancer is proud to host a one-day virtual summit called Digital CancerCon 2022 to raise cancer awareness and spread information. The event will happen virtually through the vFairs event platform and interested participants can attend by registering here.
The conference is free to attend for AYA cancer patients (15-39 year olds), their families, caregivers, non-profit professionals, advocates, health care professionals, and cancer community members. It aims to educate and connect all that attend and beyond.
The virtual conference will be a day full of presentations, breakout sessions, and discussion groups. Attendees will also get access to useful resources that support AYA cancer care and management at any stage.
CancerCon is the largest gathering for the adolescent and young adult cancer community of its kind. Therefore, attendees of the event will be able to communicate and connect with their peers through the interactive virtual platform. Hundreds of cancer patients, survivors, and advocates will come together to build community.
Due to the virtual nature of the conference, it is a very accessible event for all. Attendees can join from their homes, schools, treatment centers, hospitals, or anywhere else. It also includes social activities and a dance class at the end of the day to encourage attendees to engage with their peers.
The 2021 conference had 590+ attendees, 65% of which were AYAs. The social activities at Digital CancerCon2021 made 95% of the attendees feel more connected and part of the community. This year, Stupid Cancer hopes to continue reaching as many AYAs as possible and is planning their in-person conference, CancerCon Live, in Atlanta, Georgia in 2023.
“Digital CancerCon is an opportunity for the entire adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer community to come together – from all corners of the world – to gain useful, age-related, meaningful information and resources all while finding their community. No other conference gives you the chance to discuss those unique and personal issues you face as an AYA while simultaneously connecting you to hundreds of patients, survivors, and loved ones!” said Alison Silberman, CEO of Stupid Cancer.
“The AYA cancer community will get a great chance to connect with their peers through Digital CancerCon. We are thrilled to offer a dynamic virtual platform to make it possible,” said Muhammad Younas, CEO of vFairs.
The conference starts at 9:00 AM Eastern Time on 19th November, 2022, and interested participants can get more information here.
